Time for a quickie

I know I'm behind on blogging.  I blame my boss.  He called me Sunday evening and told me to pack a bag so I could fly out Monday.  So here we are.  I flew out of the local airport Monday evening, got to DFW for my 2 hr layover and things just got worse from there.  The plane scheduled for my second flight had mechanical issues and after sitting there for 45 minutes or so they told us they had to find us another plane.  That didn't take long, but by the time I got to the hotel it was about 11:30pm.  I was exhausted and had a terrible headache.

I made it to my destination this morning and had my meeting.  The lady I was meeting with was super kind and drove me to the airport.  I got to the airport just in time for the airline to call me and tell me my flight back to DFW was canceled.  Of course they didn't call me soon enough to book the only other flight that would get me to my original destination tonight.  I had to settle for another flight 3 hours later than my original flight and 5 hours after my check-in time and I'll be flying to a town an hour away from where I was supposed to be. I hope all of that made sense.

The only good news is that I'm getting paid for all this time that I'm sitting at the airport surfin' the 'Net.

I also used the cash my boss gave me to buy a book and a crossword puzzle book.  I would be doing that right now, but I'm so tired it's hard for me to even write this.  Plus I'm using my new Netbook and they keys are closer together than I'm used to and I keep hitting the wrong key.

Anyway, I'll be glad to get home to my husband since I didn't even get to spend Valentine's evening with him. But by the time we get home it's going to be after 10pm.  I'm so ready for a nice relaxing weekend.

The metformin was going well the first few days with some minor but annoying side effects.  Sunday evening I started experiencing the "met gut".  I've been having problems since then.  It's manageable, but inconvenient.

That's all I have for now.  So much for a quickie, huh.
